TTSR The Meaning of Law

The reason we have laws is to have set standards that govern the people, define what is right from what is wrong, and how unlawful actions are to be punished, at least, that is what laws are to those who do not have a say in the matter.

For a judge, someone who might consider himself ‘above’ such laws in the courtroom, it is for him to decide the ultimate outcome, no matter what the law says or what conclusion the jury comes to, it is in his hands to decide the course of punishment which can be anything from a life long sentence to a mere warning.

This is a dangerous amount of power that has changed hands over time to more politically concerned individuals than lawfully concerned, which in the end leads to citizens taking the law into their own hands because justice is no longer being served to murderers, rapists, or the ‘politically correct’.
