In cases where equality is threatened by uncontrollable circumstances,
such as paralysis confining a person to a wheelchair, is it acceptable to force
people to give up their rights to comply with the wishes of the incapacitated?
An example would be golfers in wheelchairs suing a hotel for
not having special carts that allowed handicapped people to golf without
getting out of their carts.
Unfortunately this is a true story where the hotel, that had
nothing to do with the restricting conditions of the golfers, was forced to
give up their rights, which were equal to that of the golfers, to accommodate
the desires of those who would not buy a special needs cart of their own.
