Matthew 5:14-16
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill
cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on
a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In
the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your
good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
God did not fill us with His light so that we could hide it
or keep it to ourselves, for the light we have in Christ cannot be hidden,
neither can Christians go unnoticed in a lost society.
We are shining because Jesus who is the way, the truth, and
the light is in us and we are on a hill because we are easily seen by our moral
works whether at home, at school, at work, or in a family, we should always
stand out from the rest of the world.
If your not standing out, it is time to re-examine your life
as a follower of Christ to see where your priorities in life lie, whether in
things that will pass away or in the things that add to your treasures in
heaven.
Luke 6:45 “The good person out of the
good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil
treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth
speaks.”
